2024 Outstanding Faculty Mentor Awardees
Congratulations!
This award recognizes a Washington University in St. Louis faculty member who demonstrates exceptional mentorship to WashU postdoctoral appointees. Awardees have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to supporting their postdocs intellectually, socially, and personally, lending their time and knowledge to guide them, creating opportunities for them, and promoting nurturing academic environments. Awardees go above and beyond to help postdocs advance their research and scholarship, hone their professional development skills, and achieve their career and professional goals.
- Nominees must be current Washington University in St. Louis faculty members as of the close of the nomination process (May 1 for the 2024 cycle).
- WashU faculty members in any track, rank, or school are eligible provided that they have engaged in the mentoring of postdoctoral appointees.
- Preference will be given to nominated faculty members who have certified participation in mentorship training provided by OPA, DBBS, or the Office of the Provost.
- Nominations may be submitted by current Washington University in St. Louis postdoctoral appointees (associates or scholars) who have been mentored by the WashU faculty member nominee.
- Self-nominations are not permitted for this award.
- A completed nomination form
- A 500-word or less statement that describes how the faculty member has demonstrated exceptional mentorship and why they are deserving of the Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award
Nominations will be evaluated on the faculty member’s record of quality postdoc mentorship and dedication to their own mentorship training. Nominations will be reviewed by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and awardees will be notified by May 6, 2024.
