The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs offers mentor training and mentoring workshops to postdoctoral appointees. We use an using an evidence-based curriculum developed by the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER), a nationally recognized organization focused on improving research mentoring relationships, and supported by the National Research Mentoring Network. The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is an accredited member of the Office of the Provost Mentoring Initiative.
Postdocs in the program learn how to establish and maintain mentor-mentee relationships from the mentor perspective. They develop and reflect on their own mentorship style, apply the model practices to their own mentoring experiences, and gain confidence and effectiveness at developing the next generation of researchers.
Participants receive a digital badge from the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
