Pathways to Advanced Scientific Skills through Postdoctoral Research Training (PASSPoRT)
Thank you for your interest in PASSPoRT to WashU! This virtual event will be held on December 10, 2024.
PASSPoRT to WashU is a virtual full-day event for prospective postdocs hosted by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at Washington University in St. Louis. This event is open to advanced PhD students (post-qualifying exams), recent PhD graduates, and early-stage postdocs.
As a faculty or staff member of WashU, PASSPoRT to WashU is an opportunity to recruit talent into your open postdoctoral positions. Whether advertising for a training program, a specific lab, or a department/program, you can submit the opportunity here! All complete submissions will be made available to participants in PASSPoRT to WashU upon completion of the event.
Submit Open Positions
The above form is for use by WashU faculty and administrative staff.
Please use this form to submit currently open or upcoming postdoc positions at WashU. Participants in PASSPoRT to WashU will gain access to a list of all submitted positions after attending the virtual event. In addition, a list of all PASSPoRT participants and their registration materials will be made available to all who submit a position, enabling hiring managers to contact candidates directly.
All open postdoc positions must be submitted by December 3, 2024.
Open postdoc position categories
To maximize organization, this submission form asks that each open postdoc position be assigned to one of three categories:
- an individual PI or faculty member. Select this option if you are submitting an open position with an individual faculty member in a specific lab. The funding would come from a grant held by the faculty member (e.g., an NIH R01). To ease the submission process, please prepare a PDF that describes the postdoctoral opportunity. For your convenience, you are welcome to modify this template.
- a Training Program. Select this option if you are submitting open postdoctoral positions on a training grant or in a training program (e.g., NIH T32). To ease the submission process, please prepare a PDF that describes the postdoctoral opportunity. For your convenience, you are welcome to modify this template.
- a department, office, or center. Select this option if you are submitting a postdoctoral opening that is funded by a department, office, or center (e.g., a departmental teaching postdoc, or an endowed postdoc in a specialized office). To ease the submission process, please prepare a PDF that describes the postdoctoral opportunity. For your convenience, you are welcome to modify this template.
If you have multiple open postdoc positions, we recommend that you submit this form once for each open postdoc position if the descriptions are substantively different from one another. For example, if a faculty member has two open postdoc positions for the same grant, a single submission indicating that two positions are available would be appropriate. If the open postdoc positions are being funded by different grants, two submissions would be appropriate.
PASSPoRT Signing Bonus
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) is committed to supporting the recruitment and retention of talented postdoctoral researchers within our institution. As part of this commitment, the OPA has created the PASSPoRT Signing Bonus Initiative. This is a follow-up incentive based on participation in PASSPoRT.
If a PASSPoRT participant is successfully hired as a WashU postdoc within twelve months of the PASSPoRT event and receives a signing bonus provided by the hiring Principal Investigator (PI) or department, then the OPA will match the signing bonus up to $1000. The full bonus amount must be explicitly included in the postdoctoral candidate’s offer letter.
The OPA PASSPoRT Signing Bonus Initiative is contingent upon compliance with university postdoctoral policy regarding eligibility for postdoctoral appointments, postdoctoral minimum compensation, and appropriate access to benefits. For more information, visit the OPA’s Policies and Benefits webpage.
Please review this document for full details on the PASSPoRT Signing Bonus.
