Welcome to Washington University in St. Louis!
We are the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and we are here to help you reach your career and professional goals, to advocate for issues that may affect your stay at the University or your professional development, and to foster a community for postdoctoral appointees. Washington University in St. Louis is committed to excellence in research and education, and recognizes that postdoctoral appointees make critical contributions to the university’s community through the generation of new ideas, sharing of knowledge, and mentorship of future researchers.
If you are a new postdoctoral appointee, please make sure to complete these two steps for your onboarding and orientation requirements:
STEP 1: HR Postdoc Onboarding
Learn about your benefits as a postdoctoral appointee and make sure you access Workday to make your pay and benefit selections, complete your I-9, and more. Also, learn how to get your badge for access to the WashU buildings. Finally, complete the training courses that provide you with information about WashU.
STEP 2: New Postdoc Orientation
The New Postdoc Orientation is a full day in-person session held on the second Friday of January, March, May, July, September, or November. Orientation is mandatory.
You will complete mandatory training on (1) Responsible Conduct of Research and (2) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training. You will also learn about postdoc-specific policies, benefits, and resources available to enhance your WashU experience.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us at postdoc@wustl.edu.
